It has been awhile between Ed Montana albums, therefore, this new CD of eight Western Swing, Western and Texas dance hall sounds comes as a wonderful treat. Ed, his vocals and acoustic guitar is backed by Doug Jernigan- steel guitar, except for Gary Carter on Johnny Cash's Ragged Old Flag. Among others, Dave Dunseath is the drummer, Dave Martin plays bass and Catherine Marx plays piano. Rory Hoffman plays accordion, Steve Patrick- trumpet and Zach Runquis- fiddle, mandolin and acoustic guitar.
Ed wrote two fantastic Western Swing tunes included in this CD, She's All Texas and the title tune, Sing Me a Song About Texas. Ed also wrote the Texas dance hall sound of Brokenheart Hangover and the country oriented Take My Hand. Also included is Ed's Western gem, Dos Rios and the prelude to that tune. The remaining tune is the inspirational Lord I Hope This Day is Good.
This CD can be obtained from Ed Montana, PO Box 30091, Amarillo, Texas 79120. The cost is $15. which includes shipping and postage.
