3 Trails West - Live
As a follow-up to their hit CD, 3 Trails West, this wonderful western group that bridge the gap between Western Music and Western Swing Music has issued a fantastic new CD from live cuts from their recent appearances at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri.
The group nucleus is Garry Bury doing lead vocals and also vocals by brothers Roger and Leo Eilts. Leo plays bass and Roger plays guitar. The Trailhands with them are Bill Dye playing some very enjoyable steel guitar and electric guitar, Ken Lovern- accordion and Marvin Gruenbaum plays some super fiddle.
The album opens with a western standard from the pen of later to be country music great Hank Snow, Out on the Open Range.  From the Sons of the Pioneers the group does Bob Nolan's Cool Water and One More Ride.  Also from the Sons of the Pioneers is reprised a classic that they did with Roy Rogers, Blue Shadows on the Trail and one that they did with Bing Crosby in one of his early movies, Johnny Mercer's I'm an Old Cowhand. There are also four from Andy Parker and the Plainsmen, Texas Belle, The West is as Wild as Ever, Roamin' in Wyomin' and Saddle Your Bronc and Ride. The group brings back Ken Curtis' Rooty Toot Galoot and two from Bob Wills, Cindy Walker's Cherokee Maiden and Bob's own New San Antonio Rose. Pinto Pal goes back to the late and legendary Elton Britt and the glory days of western in popular music are remembered with Wa Hoo. Also done live and exciting are Smiley Burnette's Ridin' Down the Canyon, a Gene Autry standard and Ray Noble's composition Cherokee from the Charlie Barnett big band.
This CD can be obtained from the 3 Trails West website www.3trailswest.com The cost is $15 plus $2 shipping and handling.
